In my class I use Bryan Harrison’s ideas from his book, Rainbow Writing to help students improve their writing. Red words are verbs; purple words are describing words, blue words are connectives (conjunctions), orange words are sentence openers and green words are extra phrases to add to improve student’s  writing.

Are students looking for a different word to improve their writing? No need for them to worry, we have a writing wall display to help students.
