Learning to play chess.

Learning to play chess.

Many people in New Zealand may have recently watched the New Zealand film The Dark Horse a story of a man with the wild idea of coaching the motley crew of kids to the national chess championship. I’m not saying the kids in my class are motley, far from it, they’re very cool.

I’ve been teaching the kids how to play chess. So far they’ve learnt about how to use the pawns, rooks, bishops and knights. Wait till they see how powerful the Queen is, and then the thrill of capturing the King.

Let the battle commence!
